SIPINNA Ahome launches child abuse prevention campaign

The System for the Integral Protection of Children and Adolescents (SIPINNA) in Ahome, Sinaloa, is launching a Awareness Campaign on the Gravity of Sexual Abuse and Child Maltreatment starting September 7.

Executive Secretary Elizabeth Chía Galaviz stated that the initiative aims to provide children and adolescents with tools to identify risk situations and understand how to request help. The program is being carried out in coordination with the Secretariat of Public Education and the municipal Direction of Education to reach as many minors as possible.

In addition to the upcoming campaign, SIPINNA conducts permanent prevention and training activities for both students and teaching staff. The organization has already trained over 600 teachers on protocols for acting in cases of violence against minors. These efforts include school visits and coordination with the Secretariat of Public Education and Culture (SEPyC) to implement action protocols for the eradication of violence and sexual abuse.
