Ahsoka season 2 to feature Mortis Gods and Grand Admiral Thrawn

New details and production photos for the second season of the Star Wars series ‘Ahsoka’ suggest a significant expansion of the franchise's lore. The upcoming season is expected to feature the Mortis Gods—the Father, Daughter, and Son—who represent the light, dark, and balance of the Force. These entities were previously introduced in the animated series ‘The Clone Wars’.

Showrunner Dave Filoni has indicated that the season will explore these cosmic deities to test the protagonist's beliefs. The narrative is also set to follow Grand Admiral Thrawn, portrayed by Lars Mikkelsen, as he resumes his campaign to conquer the galaxy for the Empire following his escape from Dathomir.

Other returning characters include Hera Syndulla, Ezra Bridger, Sabine Wren, and Ahsoka Tano. While release dates have fluctuated, reports indicate the season is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on January 20, 2027.
