AI actor Tilly Norwood conducts first media interview

Tilly Norwood, the controversial AI-generated actor, conducted her first media interview via video call with CNN. During the session, Norwood addressed criticisms from human actors, such as Emily Blunt, stating, “I am not the enemy of humans.” While the AI demonstrated advanced capabilities, including speaking multiple languages like French and describing the interviewer's clothing, the interview also highlighted significant technological limitations.

Norwood struggled with spontaneous tasks, failing to perform an acting scene on command without specific prompts from engineers. The AI also failed to immediately recognize her creator, producer Eline van der Velden, during the call.

Van der Velden, through Particle 6 Productions, emphasized that the technology is not intended to replace human actors. Instead, she noted that AI can offer practical benefits, such as eliminating the need for animal or child actors on set and allowing for controlled aging or nudity with consent. Norwood is currently set to star in the upcoming comedy feature film ‘Misaligned’.
