AI adoption in Hungary surges to 71% of internet users

Recent studies indicate a significant surge in artificial intelligence adoption among Hungarian internet users. According to the AI Readiness Index 2026 by PwC Hungary, daily AI usage rose from 42% to 71% within a single year. While ChatGPT remains the most recognized tool, awareness of Google's Gemini saw a sharp increase from 6.2% to 24.1%.

Usage patterns show that Hungarians frequently turn to chatbots for personal matters, translation, and interpreting medical results. A survey commissioned by Generali highlights a growing trend in financial decision-making, revealing that 23% of respondents have already sought financial advice from AI, while another 27% are open to doing so in the future.

Despite high adoption rates, professional and workplace integration lags behind. Approximately 44% of respondents believe AI currently has no significant impact on their daily work tasks. Furthermore, skepticism is rising; the proportion of people expressing reservations about the technology grew to 40%. Primary concerns include the potential for AI to provide convincing but false information and the risk of long-term degradation of human skills.
