Latin American businesses prioritize AI and digital transformation
Across Latin America, businesses and regional institutions are prioritizing the integration of artificial intelligence and digital transformation to drive productivity and competitiveness.
In Colombia, the World Intellectual Property Organization’s 2025 Global Innovation Index ranked the country 71st out of 139 economies, highlighting the need to convert strategic interest in AI and automation into measurable operational improvements.
In Argentina, the Instituto de Desarrollo Productivo (IDEP) is coordinating efforts in Tucumán to design strategies for implementing AI across various productive chains. This involves collaboration between the scientific-technological system, universities, and industrial groups to transfer technological capabilities to local companies. Additionally, there is a growing market for freelance AI consultants to assist small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that lack the budget for large agencies.
In Chile, the Summit for the Future of Productivity will address how AI, data, and digitalization can redesign business processes. The event includes the launch of the 2026 Business Digital Radar to analyze digital maturity and the integration of large companies with SMEs.
