AI adoption and talent development in Argentina, Paraguay, &

Overview

In Paraguay and Argentina, the labor market is experiencing a growing demand for artificial intelligence (AI) competencies and soft skills. In Paraguay, a survey by Sinafocal indicates that 92.4% of companies view staff training as necessary. In Argentina, research shows a significant proficiency gap in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), where 54% of respondents consider AI mastery essential for competitiveness, yet only 11% provide formal training.

Recent developments highlight the difficulty of translating AI adoption into measurable productivity. In Argentina and Chile, organizations struggle to move from isolated pilots to integrated operations. In Chile, MAS Analytics reports that while 28.3% of surveyed organizations are implementing AI, only 3.6% have successfully scaled it with clear, sustainable returns. Barriers include insufficient technical training and a lack of ethical and governance frameworks.

To address these gaps, new regional training initiatives have emerged. In Argentina, the province of Entre Ríos introduced ‘EntrerrianIA’, a free platform designed to provide residents with AI skills to enhance professional and educational activities. Additionally, the Buenos Aires Productive School is expanding training through university partnerships to assist SMEs with digital transformation, while the La Pampa government is organizing AI training for public administration agents.

In Chile, Accenture and Skillnest, supported by the Chilean AI Chamber, launched a program offering 100 free scholarships for a 190-hour advanced specialization course in Generative AI. This program targets professionals with technical or university degrees to help bridge the existing digital skills gap.
