AI and soft skills drive labor market demands in Paraguay and Argentina

Recent reports from Paraguay and Argentina highlight a growing demand for new competencies in the labor market, specifically regarding artificial intelligence (AI), soft skills, and financial management.

In Paraguay, the 2026 Labor Training Needs Survey by Sinafocal indicates that 92.4% of surveyed companies consider staff training necessary. While traditional roles like administrative staff and sales remain in high demand, AI is increasingly viewed as a transversal skill required across all levels, from operational staff to management.

In Argentina, a study by Trendsity for Deel reveals a significant gap in AI proficiency within SMEs. Although 54% of respondents believe AI mastery is essential for competitiveness, only 11% of companies offer formal training programs in the field. Challenges to AI implementation include costs, data privacy concerns, and a preference for traditional methods, creating a potential talent shortage as companies compete for already-skilled profiles rather than developing internal expertise.
