AI-enabled laptops to reach 55% of global market by 2026
The global market for AI-enabled laptops is projected to grow significantly, with Gartner estimating that 55 percent of all laptops sold worldwide will feature AI capabilities by 2026. This represents a sharp increase from 17 percent in 2024. Intel predicts that by 2028, 80 percent of the global laptop market will be AI-integrated.
In Indonesia, HP has responded to this trend by introducing the HP OmniBook portfolio, a consumer AI PC lineup powered by Intel Core Ultra Series 3. These devices utilize a Neural Processing Unit (NPU), which allows for local AI processing. This technology enables tasks such as real-time voice transcription, noise reduction in video calls, and auto-framing without relying on cloud servers or stable internet connections.
A PwC Indonesia survey of 812 respondents indicates that 96 percent of daily AI users in Indonesia report increased productivity, surpassing the global average of 92 percent. Additionally, 82 percent of these users feel more secure in their job positions.
