AI expansion in Spain: Granada foundation opens Ceuta hub as Innovasur reports 30% revenue rise

The AI Granada Research and Innovation Foundation will open its first outpost on the African side of the Strait of Gibraltar in July. The Ceuta centre will be inaugurated with the rector of the University of Granada and the president of the foundation’s board, and follows a four‑year collaboration agreement signed in March that provides €282,784 for outreach and AI projects across public services, health, education and commerce.

Andalusian tech firm Innovasur announced a record‑breaking 2025, posting €40 million in revenue – a 30 % increase over the previous year – and an EBITDA above €3 million with a margin exceeding 8 %. With more than 400 staff operating in several Spanish cities, the company generates half its turnover from cybersecurity and roughly 35 % from data and artificial‑intelligence services. It is shifting toward proprietary AI products under a “digital sovereignty” strategy, highlighted by its City Brain platform for smart‑city management and the upcoming Data Brain suite.
