AIADMK leaders cite DMK rivalry and PMK reliance amid Tamil Nadu electoral setbacks
AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami told party functionaries that the DMK, not the ruling TVK, remains the party's principal rival and stressed the need for a stronger social‑media presence. He urged the creation of a dedicated "war room" to coordinate digital outreach after a three‑hour review of the party's loss in the Kancheepuram constituency.
Senior party leader C V Shanmugam publicly attacked Palaniswami, claiming that out of AIADMK’s 47 seats, 31 are "alms given by the PMK". Shanmugam accused the leadership of an "autocratic slide" and warned that without the PMK alliance the party would have performed poorly across its northern strongholds, demanding an urgent executive committee meeting.
