Aida Cruises ordered to refund passengers over reduced amenities

The Rostock Regional Court has ruled in favor of a couple who sought a price reduction for an Aida Cruises world voyage due to changes in the ship's amenities. The plaintiffs, from Dortmund, had booked a trip from November 2025 to March 2026 based on deck plans showing a spacious naturist (FKK) area equipped with a whirlpool, shower, and sunshade.

Following a ship renovation, the designated area was relocated and significantly reduced in size, lacking the previously advertised amenities. Furthermore, the original space was converted into a ‘Skydeck’ accessible only to suite passengers. The court determined that the travelers were entitled to a five percent reduction in the total cruise price, which amounted to 68,600 euros, as they were justified in relying on the digital deck plans provided at the time of booking.
