AIDA Cruises Sued Over Reduced Nudist Deck on World Cruise

The German couple Sabine Hartmann and Michael B., who paid about €70,000 for a 128‑day world cruise on the AIDAdiva, have filed a lawsuit against AIDA Cruises in a court in Rostock. They allege that a refurbishment carried out in February‑March 2025 turned the public nudist area on Deck 14 into a private “Sky Deck” reserved for suite guests, eliminating the spacious nudist space advertised at the time of booking. The new area includes two whirlpools, cabanas and lounge chairs and does not permit nudity. The couple claims the remaining nudist section is inadequate and that AIDA did not inform passengers of the change. They are seeking a 22 percent refund of the fare, roughly €15,400, and gave the cruise line a 48‑hour deadline to remedy the situation during the voyage.

The case is now proceeding before the Rostock court, while AIDA Cruises has not yet commented on the claim.
