Aigio double homicide: Italian man accused amid murder investigation

Police in the Greek town of Aigio are investigating a double homicide that left a 54‑year‑old woman and her 26‑year‑old son dead. The victims were found in their bedroom with multiple stab wounds; the son was also shot in the right temple with a flobert‑type gun.

A 65‑year‑old Italian resident, a long‑time partner of the mother, has been arrested and is scheduled to appear before a judge on Friday. Authorities are probing several motives, including a possible dispute over the son’s recent return from Berlin and plans to move his mother to Germany, as well as alleged economic disagreements between the Italian man and the woman. A neighbor who witnessed the scene told Mega, “Δημήτρη, morto,” describing how he entered the apartment after the suspect called him. The investigation continues, with forensic analysis of DNA, gunpowder residue and security‑camera footage still pending.
