65‑Year‑Old Italian Suspect Linked to Aigio Double Murder After Toxicology Finds Sleeping Pills, Cannabis

Greek authorities are investigating a double homicide in the Loggo district of Aigio, where a 54‑year‑old woman and her 26‑year‑old son were found dead. The primary suspect is a 65‑year‑old Italian man who has been held in custody.

Toxicology tests on the suspect revealed the presence of sleeping tablets and traces of Indian cannabis. No DNA or fingerprints matching the suspect have been found on the victims, the weapon or the knife, and forensic experts say the injuries on the mother do not support a suicide scenario. The suspect maintains that his partner, who has a history of psychiatric issues, killed the son and then took her own life.
