Asaduddin Owaisi offers UP alliance to prevent BJP win

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has announced that his party will decide on a potential political alliance for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections by October 2. Owaisi stated that AIMIM is open to working with like-minded parties that aim to prevent the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from securing a third consecutive term in the state.

During recent visits to Kanpur and other regions, Owaisi emphasized the need for the Muslim community to develop its own political agency and leadership rather than being treated merely as a vote bank. He criticized the Samajwadi Party (SP) for its perceived silence on minority issues and recent government actions, such as demolition drives, arguing that the SP's 'PDA' outreach is incomplete without AIMIM's representation.

Owaisi also confirmed that AIMIM is actively preparing for the polls, including plans to contest from the Kanpur Cantt constituency. The party is intensifying its organizational activities across Uttar Pradesh to strengthen its presence ahead of the 2027 elections.
