Air India adds Boeing 787‑9 and seasonal Mumbai‑Toronto flights for winter 2026‑27

Air India has introduced Boeing 787‑9 aircraft on its Delhi‑Toronto route, operating ten weekly flights in the 2026‑27 winter season. Seven of those flights will use the new 787‑9, while three will initially run with Boeing 777‑300ERs before transitioning to the 787‑9 in January 2027. The airline will also launch a seasonal, nonstop Mumbai‑Toronto service three times a week from 25 October 2026 to 26 March 2027, adding roughly 2,000 seats each week and increasing total monthly capacity between India and Canada by 4,400 seats. Premium seating on the Toronto‑bound flights will rise by 71%, with upgraded cabin interiors including First‑Class suites, flat‑bed Business seats and Wi‑Fi on board. All Toronto‑bound flights will feature the new cabin products by early 2027, and Air India plans to use New York’s Terminal 6 at JFK for its operations starting in 2028.
