Air India launches nonstop Delhi‑Toronto service with Dreamliner
Air India will begin nonstop service between Delhi and Toronto on 1 August 2026, using newly delivered Boeing 787‑9 Dreamliners.
The aircraft replaces the Boeing 777‑300ER that required a technical fuel stop in Vienna, cutting the scheduled flight time by roughly three hours—from about 20 hours to 17 hours—and restoring daily frequency after a temporary reduction to five flights per week.
The 787‑9 cabin includes 30 Business Class suites, 28 Premium Economy seats and 238 Economy seats, with upgraded entertainment, charging and amenity options. The move is part of Air India’s post‑privatisation fleet modernization under Tata ownership and strengthens connectivity for the large Indian diaspora in Canada.
