Air Sénégal acquires Boeing 737-800 with state support

Air Sénégal has announced the upcoming integration of a Boeing 737-800 into its fleet, an acquisition supported by the Senegalese state. The move is part of a broader strategy to bolster aerial sovereignty and increase operational capacity for regional and international markets.

This acquisition follows a major commitment made in Dubai in November 2025 for nine Boeing 737-8 aircraft, marking the airline's largest order since 2004. The expansion aims to extend flight routes to Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas.

In addition to commercial operations, the new aircraft will serve as a flying ambassador for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games. The plane will feature special branding in the colors of the games and will be utilized for specific missions, such as transporting the Olympic flame.
