Air Sénégal fleet expansion

Overview

Air Sénégal has begun integrating a new Boeing 737-800 into its fleet as part of a state-supported expansion strategy. This acquisition follows a major commitment made in Dubai in November 2025 for nine Boeing 737-8 aircraft, intended to bolster aerial sovereignty and increase capacity for regional and international markets.

The new aircraft, named ‘Gorée’, was formally accepted in Dakar by Senegal’s Minister of Land and Air Transport, Abdoul Ahad Ndiaye. The expansion aligns with the ‘Senegal 2050 National Transformation Agenda’ led by President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, aiming to enhance domestic connectivity and support economic and tourism sectors.

Configured with 174 seats in a two-class layout, the aircraft is designed for short and medium-haul routes. Additionally, the fleet expansion includes plans for the aircraft to serve as a flying ambassador for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, featuring special branding to transport the Olympic flame.
