Airbus maintains 2026 delivery target despite A321neo quality issues

Airbus commercial aircraft division head Lars Wagner expressed confidence in the company meeting its target of approximately 870 deliveries in 2026. This outlook comes despite recent quality issues identified in the fuselage components of several A321neo aircraft.

The company attributed the A321neo issue to the incorrect application of anti-corrosive primer by a supplier, noting that no operational safety is affected and a solution has been defined. While the quality issue adds pressure to a delivery schedule already impacted by engine and supply chain bottlenecks, Airbus remains focused on its targets.

Additionally, the company successfully completed the first flight of the new A350F freighter in Toulouse, France. The first unit of this cargo model is expected to be delivered in the second half of next year following a nine-month flight test program.
