AIRC Pink Ribbon campaign launches in Verona pharmacies

Pharmacies in Verona have joined the AIRC Foundation’s “Nastro Rosa” (Pink Ribbon) campaign to support breast cancer research. Participating pharmacies are offering decorative pink pins for a minimum donation of two euros, with proceeds funding scientific research.

In addition to the pins, participating locations provide informational materials regarding the disease, current research, and the importance of early diagnosis. The initiative aims to promote a culture of prevention and encourage women to utilize free public health screening programs.

Elena Vecchioni, president of Federfarma Verona, stated that the primary role of pharmacies in this health campaign is to disseminate scientific knowledge related to prevention. Antonio Maria Cartolari, president of the AIRC Foundation for the Veneto, Trentino, and Alto Adige Committee, noted that while medical progress has increased five-year survival rates from 78% in 1992 to 89.5% today, increased awareness of screening programs remains vital.
