Airlines adjust flight operations and schedules to Algeria for 2026-2027

Transavia France and ITA Airways are implementing operational changes for their routes to Algeria during the 2026-2027 winter season.

Starting October 25, 2026, Transavia France will introduce the Airbus A320neo on select flights between Paris-Orly and Algiers, replacing the Boeing 737-800 on certain rotations. The A320neo features a capacity of 186 seats, compared to 189 seats on the Boeing model. This shift is part of the airline's gradual integration of the A320neo into its fleet to strengthen its presence in North Africa and the Middle East.

Meanwhile, ITA Airways is adjusting its Rome-Algiers service. Beginning October 25, 2026, the airline will reduce flight frequencies on this route from 12 to 10 flights per week, utilizing Airbus A319 aircraft. Additionally, ITA Airways CEO Joerg Eberhart indicated that rising jet fuel costs could lead to ticket price increases as early as 2027, noting that a 50% increase in fuel prices could result in approximately 500 million euros in additional annual operating costs.
