Airport Mobility Service: How to Book Assistance for Travelers with Reduced Mobility

Airports provide a mobility service to assist travelers who have reduced mobility, such as wheelchair users, people with disabilities, seniors, post‑operative passengers, and those with temporary injuries. The service does not require a disability card; the need itself is sufficient.

Bookings must be made at least 48 hours before departure through the airline, a travel agency, or an online reservation system, where assistance codes are recorded. On the day of travel, passengers check in at a designated meeting point, receive escort through security, and are transported by wheelchair or electric cart to the gate, with priority boarding. For connections, the service includes escort between gates and assistance on long walks. Travelers may bring their own wheelchair (which is stored in the cargo hold) or use a loaner provided by the airport. Planning ahead is essential, as the service is organized but not instantly available on demand.
