Airtel expands mobile network for Amarnath Yatra in Jammu & Kashmir

Airtel announced on 3 July 2026 that it has significantly strengthened its mobile network along the two main routes of the annual Amarnath pilgrimage – Pahalgam and Baltal – in Jammu & Kashmir. The company activated new mobile sites at locations such as Chandanwari, Pissu Top and Betab Valley, complementing existing coverage on the Baltal route, to deliver reliable voice calls, high‑speed data and robust emergency communication for pilgrims, security personnel and government officials.

Airtel’s Chief Operating Officer for Jammu & Kashmir, Vikram RS, said the upgrade reflects the firm’s ongoing investment in the region’s most challenging terrain and its commitment to keeping people connected during the massive religious gathering.
