AJ Styles defends son Avery in ring and addresses style criticisms

Retired WWE Hall of Famer AJ Styles recently made a rare in-ring appearance at an Atlanta Wrestling Entertainment event to defend his son, Avery Styles, from a post-match attack following a match against Jones.

Avery Styles, 19, is currently signed to TNA Wrestling and is scheduled to make his promotion debut at the Bound For Glory pay-per-view on October 11, where he will compete in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet.

Addressing recent criticism that Avery’s wrestling style too closely resembles his father’s, AJ Styles stated on the ‘What Do You Wanna Talk About?’ podcast that his son will eventually develop his own unique identity. Styles noted that most wrestlers begin by imitating idols before transitioning into their own characters.
