Mihăiță Lungu denies assaulting youth player during match

Mihăiță Lungu, coach of the Standard Vaslui youth team, has denied allegations of physically assaulting a player during a match against ACS Husana Huși. Reports and images surfaced suggesting Lungu grabbed a player under the age of 14 by the neck and lifted him off the ground following a misplaced pass.

Lungu maintains that the interaction was non-violent and intended to provide technical instruction. He stated that he lifted the child by the shoulders to demonstrate proper positioning and that the photographic evidence captured a misleading moment. He noted that the player continued the match, scored two goals, and appeared to be in good spirits.

Emil Dorin, president of Standard Vaslui, supported this version, suggesting the incident was exaggerated and noting the player is a relative of the coach. However, Bogdan Gheorghiță, president of AJF Vaslui, announced that the Ethics and Disciplinary Commission has been notified of the incident.
