AK Parti celebrates 25th anniversary in Ankara

The Justice and Development Party (AK Parti) celebrated its 25th anniversary with a large-scale event at the Başkent Millet Bahçesi in Ankara. The gathering drew hundreds of thousands of party members from all 81 provinces of Turkey.

During the ceremony, President and AK Parti Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan reflected on the party's political journey since its founding on August 14, 2001. He highlighted significant investments in sectors such as education, health, transportation, and defense, noting that Turkey's defense industry has become a global point of interest. Erdoğan also discussed the 'Türkiye Century' vision and mentioned plans to expand high-speed train projects to 27 cities by 2028.

Observers note that the AK Parti's 25 years of continuous rule through free elections is a significant milestone in Turkish democratic history. The party's rise is often analyzed in the context of its ability to maintain support through shifts in the country's social and economic landscape.
