AK Parti marks 25th anniversary with nationwide commemorations

AK Parti is marking its 25th anniversary with various commemorative events and programs across Turkey. Under the theme “A Quarter Century with Our Nation, Turkey is Ready for the Future,” local and national party officials have held press conferences, religious services (Mevlid), and exhibitions to celebrate the party's history since its founding on August 14, 2001.

Key activities include honoring deceased party members and their families through prayer services and photo exhibitions in cities such as Istanbul, Erzurum, Kayseri, and Aydın. In Istanbul, Deputy Chairman Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya emphasized the party's commitment to all segments of society, while Istanbul Provincial Chairman Abdullah Özdemir highlighted the party's role in democratic struggles and national development.

Party leaders have used these milestones to reflect on the party's journey under President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, citing challenges such as economic crises, the July 15 coup attempt, and the February 6 earthquakes. They also discussed the party's focus on infrastructure, defense industry advancements, and the goal of a “terror-free Turkey.” A large-scale central event is expected to take place in Ankara.
