Turkish politics is currently dominated by a major fund scandal and the upcoming start of the new legislative year at the TBMM.

YENİ Parti leader Özgür Özel has leveled serious allegations regarding a fund crisis, claiming that AK Parti official Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya and her husband withdrew 2.2 billion lira shortly before funds were liquidated, despite an initial investment of 163 million lira. Özel characterized the situation as a ‘century-defining robbery’ that impacted 455,000 small investors.

In response, AK Parti officials, including Group Deputy Chair Özlem Zengin and spokesperson Ömer Çelik, have defended the government's stance. Zengin stated that legal and administrative processes are being closely monitored and that anyone found responsible, regardless of their position, will face consequences. AK Parti leaders have also criticized Özel’s remarks as politically motivated and lacking in moral responsibility.

Additionally, AK Parti Deputy Chairman Nihat Zeybekci clarified previous comments regarding the crisis, stating that while the state sets rules, any negligence lies with the specific institutions and individuals responsible for implementation.

As the TBMM prepares for its new legislative session, political tensions remain high. YENİ Parti has announced it will not attend the traditional opening reception, and its members have signaled they will not stand for President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during his address to the General Assembly.
