Turkey fund liquidation: 6.4 billion TL paid to investors

The Fund Coordination Board, chaired by Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, has advanced the liquidation process for investment funds following a major scandal. Ziraat Bankası has already distributed 6.4 billion TL to 43,643 investors associated with funds managed by A1, Bulls, and Pardus.

The liquidation of the remaining 49 funds from these three companies, valued at 34.1 billion TL, is expected to be completed by the end of the week. If successful, this will complete the in-kind and cash liquidation of 40.5 billion TL for a total of 45,745 people across 66 funds.

To facilitate further recovery, a legislative proposal was submitted to the Turkish Grand National Assembly on October 9, 2026. This law aims to ensure fair and transparent liquidation and legal protection for payments. The proposal is scheduled for discussion in the TBMM Plan and Budget Commission on October 14, 2026. Once passed, interim payments for an additional 65 funds are planned to be processed promptly. Data from the Central Securities Depository indicates that as of September 17, 2026, the total number of individual investors involved in the 131 funds under liquidation was 455,758, representing 4.6% of all funds and 7.7% of total portfolio value.
