Akçaabat Municipality advances street revitalization project

The Akçaabat Municipality is progressing with the second stage of its Street Revitalization Project, which aims to modernize the district center while preserving its urban identity. The project currently covers 76 parcels, including İnönü, İstiklal, and Dr. Ayhan Kanoğlu streets, with a physical completion rate of 74 percent.

Work on building exteriors, including insulation, plastering, and painting, is nearing completion. The next phase will focus on standardizing shop signage, awnings, and ground-floor cladding to ensure visual harmony between commercial businesses and the buildings they occupy. Following the facade improvements, the municipality plans to renovate local streets and sidewalks to complete the aesthetic and functional transformation of the market area.
