Akçaabat Municipality infrastructure projects

The Akçaabat Municipality is undertaking various urban development and infrastructure initiatives in the Trabzon region.

One ongoing effort is the second stage of a Street Revitalization Project aimed at modernizing the district center while maintaining its urban identity. This project covers 76 parcels, including İnönü, İstiklal, and Dr. Ayhan Kanoğlu streets, and has reached a 74 percent physical completion rate. Following building exterior improvements, the municipality intends to standardize shop signage and renovate sidewalks to complete the transformation of the market area.

Simultaneously, the municipality is expanding road infrastructure by utilizing its own concrete production plant. Under the leadership of Mayor Osman Nuri Ekim, the facility has produced 20,000 cubic meters of concrete during the first ten months of 2026, resulting in 21.5 kilometers of completed concrete roads. The municipality has set year-end targets to reach 30,000 cubic meters of production and 30 kilometers of completed roads in coordination with the Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality.
