Akhilesh Yadav accuses BJP of using fake posters to divide INDIA bloc
Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of deploying “fake” posters across Lucknow and other districts to create friction within the opposition INDIA bloc. The posters, which feature images of Rahul Gandhi and local leaders, carry the slogan “200 seat haq hai hamara, UP ko hai Rahul Gandhi par bharosa” (200 seats are our right, UP trusts Rahul Gandhi).
Yadav claims the campaign is a tactic to exploit seat-sharing negotiations between the Congress and the Samajwadi Party ahead of next year’s Uttar Pradesh elections. He specifically noted that the posters appeared without official permission or the payment of required municipal fees, suggesting that the lack of enforcement by local authorities may stem from corruption or administrative pressure.
Demanding the suspension of municipal officials, Yadav stated that the Samajwadi Party is maintaining a record of these incidents. He further asserted that if his PDA alliance is voted into power, he would involve agencies such as the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Enforcement Directorate to investigate the conduct of officials involved in such unauthorized activities.
