Akhilesh Yadav calls for unity in INDIA bloc ahead of elections
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has signaled a willingness to reconcile with former party members and alliance partners ahead of upcoming elections. Ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections, Yadav stated that it is a ‘time for union’ and expressed readiness to overlook past grievances with those who wish to rejoin the fold to protect the Constitution, democracy, and social harmony.
Regarding the INDIA bloc, Yadav emphasized that the primary objective must be collective victory rather than disputes over individual seat-sharing. He noted that the success of the alliance is more significant than the specific number of seats allocated to individual parties.
These developments occur as the Samajwadi Party and Congress begin deliberations for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. Tensions regarding seat distribution have already surfaced, with some party members suggesting that seat allocation should reflect a party's actual electoral strength and organizational presence in the state.
