Akhilesh Yadav targets farmer issues and youth politics in Uttar Pradesh

Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Akhilesh Yadav has intensified political activity in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2027 assembly elections. In Saharanpur, Yadav addressed sugarcane farmers, promising that an SP government would ensure payments are transferred directly to farmers' bank accounts within 24 to 48 hours of sale. He criticized current policies regarding ethanol production and sugar prices, alleging that industrial profits are not reaching the farmers.

In Lucknow, Akhilesh Yadav met with Ashutosh Ranka, national spokesperson for the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), for approximately ninety minutes. While no formal alliance was announced, the meeting focused on expressing gratitude for SP's support during recent CJP protests at Jantar Mantar regarding student and youth issues. Both parties have shown alignment on topics such as unemployment, education, and competitive exam reforms.
