Akhisar, Turkey receives 14 water tankers for forest fire response

The Izmir Forest Regional Directorate handed over 14 water tankers to forest villages in the Akhisar district of Manisa province. The delivery, part of the ORKÖY support programme, is intended to strengthen early intervention against forest fires during the high‑risk summer months.

Director Mahmut Yılmaz emphasized the critical role of the villages in fire suppression, noted that the tanker distribution is an annual activity, and urged residents to avoid fire‑causing behaviour and to report any smoke or fire immediately to the 112 emergency number.
