Akira 35th Anniversary 4K Screening at São Paulo's Sato Cinema

Akira 4K remaster Sato Cinema São Paulo 35th anniversary

To mark the 35th anniversary of the anime film *Akira* in Brazil, Sato Company is holding a special preview of the newly remastered 4K version on 9 August 2026. The screenings will take place at Sato Cinema, located on Rua São Joaquim in the Liberdade neighbourhood of São Paulo, with two showtimes in the afternoon. Tickets are sold through Ingresso.com. This event precedes the nationwide release scheduled for 27 August 2026.

*Akira*, directed and written by Katsuhiro Otomo, originally debuted in Japanese cinemas in 1988 and arrived in Brazil in 1991 as the first anime shown in Brazilian movie theatres. The film is widely credited with shaping the cyber‑punk aesthetic and influencing global pop culture.
