Akira remastered in 4K returns to Brazilian cinemas

The classic Japanese anime *Akira* will be shown in Brazilian cinemas in a newly remastered 4K version starting on 27 August 2024. Distributed by Sato Company, the release includes both Portuguese‑dubbed and subtitled screenings.

A special commemorative showing is scheduled for 9 August to mark the 35th anniversary of the film’s original Brazilian debut in 1991. The official teaser highlights a restored Neo‑Tokyo cityscape and iconic scenes from the cyber‑punk story.

The new version preserves the original animation while offering upgraded visual quality, celebrating the lasting influence of *Akira* on pop culture and the cyber‑punk genre.
