Akita and Kurume cities launch July local food market fairs
From July 17‑20, Akita City’s Akita Marugoto Market will host the “Akita Local Delicious Food Fair,” showcasing regional specialties such as Akita beef, Yawata‑hei pork, Inaniwa udon, local sweets and a limited‑time ¥1,500 voucher sold for ¥1,000. The event is limited to 7,000 vouchers and aims to attract visitors to a wide range of the prefecture’s foods and products.
On July 18‑19, Kurume City’s Nishitetsu Kurume Station East Plaza will hold a “Saturday·Sunday Market.” The free‑entry market features dozens of stalls selling pancakes, hot dogs, tacos, seafood snacks, sweets, vintage goods and other items, with a night‑market program on Saturday.
