Croatian towns host free summer outdoor cinema series
The municipality of Vratišinec will hold a free open‑air film evening on 17 July 2026 in the courtyard of the former kindergarten. The programme begins at 19:00 with the family adventure “Moj dida je pao s Marsa” followed by the comedy “Grown Ups” at 21:00. Organisers – the Youth Council of Vratišinec and the regional tourism board – invite visitors to bring blankets, snacks and drinks; entry is free and the event will be postponed only for adverse weather.
Throughout July and August 2026, Karlovac County’s “Riječno kino” will present a series of seven free outdoor screenings at locations such as the amphitheatre in Duga Resa, swimming pools in Ozlo, Foginovo, Bosiljevo, Saborsko and the courtyard of Frankopan Castle in Ogulin. Films include Lynne Ramsay’s drama “Umri, ljubavi”, the Macedonian‑inspired story “DJ Ahmet”, the documentary “Keltska utopija”, the black‑comedy “Nasljedstvo s predumišljajem” and the Danish dark‑humour “Posljednji Viking”. All showtimes start around 21:00, with entry free and supported by sponsors such as Heineken Karlovačko and numerous cultural and tourism organisations.
Đakovo will also host summer open‑air cinema evenings as part of its “Đakovačke ljetne večeri” cultural programme, adding another venue for free community film screenings during the season.
