Aksaray hosts journalism workshop on digital transformation

The ‘Vefa Buluşması ve Basın Çalıştayı’ (Loyalty Meeting and Press Workshop) was held in Aksaray on September 25-26, marking the 30th anniversary of a previous Presidents' Council meeting. Organized by Abdulkadir Ay, the event brought together journalists, media federation presidents, and communication students to discuss the evolution of the Anatolian press.

Key discussions focused on the digital transformation of journalism, the impact of artificial intelligence, and the necessity of maintaining verification and public interest in an era of rapid information. Speakers addressed the economic challenges facing local media, the need for a new press law, and the importance of journalists developing skills in digital content production, such as video, graphics, and drone usage.

Industry leaders, including representatives from the International Press Confederation and the Anatolian Press Union, emphasized the need for institutionalization and the establishment of a media professional union to ensure ethical standards and higher quality in the Turkish media landscape.
