Priyadarshan's Haiwaan thriller to release September 11

Director Priyadarshan is set to release the thriller Haiwaan on September 11, 2026, marking a reunion with Akshay Kumar and a significant genre shift from his usual comedy works. While Saif Ali Khan was the first actor confirmed for the project, Priyadarshan revealed that Akshay Kumar joined the cast after expressing interest in playing a psycho character during a casual conversation.

The film features both Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles, a pairing that marks their first collaboration since 2008. Priyadarshan noted that casting two major stars together is easier with established actors like Kumar and Khan compared to the newer generation, whom he described as being more “insecure” regarding their co-stars.

In promotion for the film, the title track “Main Toh Nahi Haiwaan” has been released by Zee Music Company. The song, composed by Pritam and sung by Raghav Chaitanya, features Kumar, Khan, Shriya Pilgaonkar, and Saiyami Kher. The film is produced by KVN Productions and Thespian Films.
