AKTOR targets long-term growth through infrastructure diversification

AKTOR is transitioning from a traditional construction firm into a diversified infrastructure group, targeting a long-term EBITDA exceeding 600 million euros. The company is focusing on expanding its footprint in concessions, renewable energy, energy storage, the circular economy, and LNG.

In the first half of 2026, the group reported a turnover of 649 million euros. Reported EBITDA rose by 38% to 91 million euros, while pro forma EBITDA—which accounts for the full integration of acquired companies—increased by 85% to 120 million euros. To support an investment program estimated at 3 billion euros through 2031, the group raised 950 million euros through capital increases and bond issuances.

CEO Alexandros Exarchou characterized 2026 as a milestone year for the group. Addressing rumors regarding the company's financial health and project delays, Exarchou stated that total net debt stands at 429 million euros, representing 1.9 times EBITDA. He noted that if the debt related to the Moreas concession is excluded, the leverage ratio falls below 1.0 times EBITDA, with net cash exceeding 700 million euros. Regarding construction delays, the leadership attributed issues to common public works challenges, such as incomplete expropriations, archaeological finds, and necessary design changes.
