AKTOR infrastructure and renewable energy expansion

Overview

AKTOR is undergoing a strategic transition from a traditional construction firm into a diversified infrastructure group. This expansion focuses on sectors including renewable energy, energy storage, concessions, the circular economy, and LNG.

As part of this shift, AKTOR Renewables signed a binding Memorandum of Understanding to acquire a 51% stake in a DEPA Emporias renewable energy and storage portfolio in Greece. This portfolio includes hybrid photovoltaic plants with battery storage and standalone energy storage systems across several regions, including Central Greece, Thessaly, the Peloponnese, and Western Macedonia. The total estimated investment for this portfolio is approximately €370 million.

To support a broader investment program estimated at €3 billion through 2031, the group has raised €950 million through bond issuances and capital increases. In the first half of 2026, the company reported a turnover of €649 million and a pro forma EBITDA of €120 million. Leadership has addressed financial stability and project delays, noting that net debt stands at €429 million and attributing construction delays to common public works challenges such as archaeological finds and design changes.
