Akwa Ibom Governor charges new Itai Afe Annang V to promote peace
Governor Umo Eno has called upon the newly installed Itai Afe Annang V, Obong Blaise Awakama, to utilize his experience and wisdom to foster peace, unity, and development within Annang land and Akwa Ibom State.
The charge was delivered during the official installation ceremony and the 90th birthday celebration of Obong Awakama. Represented by Deputy Governor Senator Akon Eyakenyi, the Governor described the Itai Afe Annang as a revered traditional institution central to the history and identity of the Annang people.
During the event, the Governor was honored with the chieftaincy title Akwa Obong Emem Annang by the new monarch. The administration reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive development across the state through cooperation with traditional rulers and stakeholders.
