Alabama Shakes announce new album 'I Must Be Dreaming' and single 'I Feel Hope Coming

American rock group Alabama Shakes revealed that their third studio album, I Must Be Dreaming, will be released on 28 August through Island Records, ending an 11‑year gap since Sound & Color. The announcement was accompanied by the new single I Feel Hope Coming, which frontman Brittany Howard says reflects both the turmoil and the beauty of the current world.

The album was recorded in Nashville’s Sound Emporium and Blackbird Studios, produced by the band alongside Grammy‑winner Shawn Everett, and includes previously previewed tracks such as American Dream and Another Life. Howard explained the album title’s dual meaning – “I must be dreaming because the world feels insane, yet also because it feels incredibly beautiful.” The release follows a surprise Christmas 2024 appearance and a series of live shows that have marked the band’s gradual return to the studio.
