Alagoas artisans and Alagoa cheese festival boost regional culture in Brazil

The 15th Festival of Cheese and Olive Oil is being held in Alagoa, Minas Gerais, featuring tastings of award‑winning artisanal cheeses and locally produced olive oils. Organizers aim to showcase regional gastronomy, attract tourists and strengthen the local economy.

In São Paulo, the 22nd Salão do Artesanato – Raízes Brasileiras displays crafts from the state of Alagoas, including ceramics, woodwork and textiles. Artisans highlighted the support of the Alagoas government and expressed expectations of strong sales, with one stating, “We hope to sell everything and return with an empty truck.” The event seeks to increase visibility of Alagoas’ cultural heritage and generate income for producers.
