Alagoas marks Grupo Literario Alagoano's 50th anniversary and hosts regional library‑museum forum

The Grupo Literario Alagoano (GLA) commemorated its 50th anniversary with a two‑day program on 21‑22 May in Maceió, featuring tributes to local writers, a posthumous homage to singer Madalena Oliveira, and the inaugural Selma Britto award for cultural contributors. The events, organized by GLA president Maria Helena Amorim Lima and supported by the Alagoas state government, were held at the Ruth Cardoso Convention Centre auditorium and Le Jardin receptions.

A week later, on 29 May, the Alagoas State Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy (Secult) hosted the second Regional Meeting of Libraries and Museums in Marechal Deodoro, bringing together public library and museum officials from the metropolitan area to discuss cooperation and cultural programming.
