Alamein International Airshow 2026 showcases aerospace and defense technology

The second edition of the Alamein International Airshow and Space Exhibition (IAS 2026) took place at Alamein International Airport, featuring approximately 250 exhibitors from 50 countries and attracting over 12,000 visitors. The event focused on showcasing national defense achievements, aerospace innovation, and the localization of advanced technologies.

Key participants included representatives from major international firms such as KAI (South Korea), MKE (Turkey), Zen Technologies Limited (India), and MBDA (Europe), all of whom expressed interest in strengthening cooperation with the Egyptian military and aerospace sectors.

National industrial entities also highlighted their capabilities. The Benha Electronics Factory discussed expanding international partnerships in radar and electronic warfare systems, while the Engine Factory of the Arab Organization for Industrialization noted its history of producing up to 16 aircraft engine models and its role in localizing water treatment technologies. Additionally, Factory 99 showcased its expertise in manufacturing heavy ammunition and armored vehicle components for export.
