Alan Jones trial: Accuser details alleged misconduct in Sydney court

The trial of veteran broadcaster Alan Jones continues in Sydney’s Downing Centre Local Court, where the 85-year-old faces 22 charges of indecent assault and sexual touching. Jones has pleaded not guilty to all allegations brought by six male complainants, who claim the misconduct occurred between 2003 and 2020.

During the proceedings, a complainant identified as “C” testified that he sent “flirty” text messages to Jones to “curry favour” and “diffuse” the situation, citing Jones’s significant influence in Australia. “C” alleged that Jones touched him inappropriately in various settings, including a car, an elevator, and a restaurant in Mosman.

Testimony also revealed that “C” had previously confided in media figures Ray Hadley and Peter FitzSimons regarding the alleged assaults. The complainant described breaking down in tears when discussing the incidents with Hadley, stating he felt intimidated by the former broadcaster.
